Dreamcatcher by WonderlandNinja Dreamcatcher by WonderlandNinja
Dreamcatcher
A reference to Pocahontas's dream of a compass guiding her on the correct path in her dreams and later on, in real life. Also a reflection on the loss of the natural world with the white man's intrusion, because she dreams of the past beauty of her world. [18x24" Acrylic on canvas, 2012]

Oh how pretty! I love the color you've used in this. And the...is it called 'threads' in the dreamcatcher? They look perfect.

You did well with the river and the grass around it, too.

(I'm sorry if this reads kinda choppy, I'm going on a few hours' sleep. ^^; )

Thank you so much! Haha I'm not sure exactly what those are called, but I drew it over the paint with silver pen. [I actually messed up the design in the center a bit, if you examine it closely one of the loops has way more strings going through than it should lol.]
Go get some sleep! :)

thanks! haha it's actually quite a large painting. and tbh the face and the less detailed stuff outside the dreamcatcher was 10397410239471023497x harder to paint than the inside. the actual landscape part inside only took about an hour.
